DIY: Herbal Teas

Here are some of our favourite herbal teas you can make with herbs and spices at home.

CCF Tea - a traditional Ayurvedic blend to soothe digestion and promote detoxification

Ingredients (when in italics available from the van)

10g cumin seeds

10g coriander seeds

10g fennel seeds

Bronchial Buster - a potent mix for the sinuses, coughs and bacterial infections

Ingredients (when in italics available from the van)

10g thyme

10g oregano

10g rosemary

5g cinnamon stick broken into pieces

Chai - spices to uplift

Ingredients (when in italics available from the van)

20g rooibos or English breakfast tea

10g cinnamon stick

10g cardamom pods

10g star anise

5g cloves

5g peppercorns

Method for all:

Combine all ingredients and transfer to sealable jar. To serve use 1 rounded teaspoon for each cup of boiling water. Let steep for at least 5-10 minutes before enjoying. (For Chai - add ingredients to saucepan and gently simmer for 20-30mins before serving). Make a stronger brew if needed.
